Information about Waycross College nursing course list, registering for required degree courses, and taking practice exams for free online. Which college degrees offer you the best chances of finding employment after graduation? If you complete the nurse training program, for example, there are a variety of specializations that may appeal to you, such as medical assisting or occupational rehabilitation. Check with the nursing department for a nursing course list, as well as course registration dates. Due to advances in medical systems, there is a growing skill-shortage of graduates from nursing programs, and nursing professionals in general.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) designation is the first step in becoming a nurse. After Becoming a CNA, you will assist in caring for patients by monitoring vital statistics, bathing, feeding and maintaining personal hygiene. Most CNA programs can be completed within a few months, allowing you to begin working. As the public ages, nursing care has become a major source of employment for new technical program graduates.
The next step in a nursing career is to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). This is a one year long program, in which you'll work under an RN, and be assigned advanced care work. Practice requirements for LPNs vary from state to state, but basic duties include passing meds, wound care, and administering feeding tubes. 1-year nursing certificate programs train students to pass the licensing test, in order to become an LPN or LVN. It is common for 90% or more of the class to find nursing jobs within 6 months. You don't have to become a registered nurse to make good money, as a licensed practical nurse with several years of work experience can earn well over $40,000 a year.

Cataract Surgery
A cataract is a clouding of the eye's lens that causes decreased vision. A cataract develops when some proteins clump together and starts to cloud an area of the lens. A cataract won't spread from one eye to the other, although many people develop cataracts in both eyes. As the cataract matures and gets cloudier, it may become difficult to read and do other normal tasks. A number of factors are known to contribute to the formation of cataracts, including aging, certain eye infections, and excessive exposure to bright sunlight.Cataract surgery is usually done under local anesthesia, and most often takes less than one hour to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial one. There are two primary types of cataract-removal surgery. The first is Small Incision Cataract Surgery, where a tiny probe is inserted into the eye. The probe emits ultrasound waves that break up the cloudy lens into small fragments able to be removed by suction. The second type of cataract surgery is called is Extra-capsular Surgery, where an incision is made in the eye, and the hard center of the lens is removed.
